Ingredients
- 2 cups sifted flour
- 1 package yeast
- 1/4 cup butter or margarine
- 2 egg yolks
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 cup finely chopped walnuts
- 1-1/2 cups sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 egg whites

Step 1
Mix flour and yeast in mixing bowl. Cut in butter with pastry blender until mixture looks like coarse meal. Blend in egg yolks and sour cream thoroughly. Press into ball. Knead until smooth, about 7 minutes on lightly floured board.
Divide dough into 3 parts, wrap waxed paper and chill for 1 hour. Combine walnuts, sugar and vanilla. Beat egg whites until stiff and fold into walnut mixture. Set aside.
On board sprinkled with powdered sugar roll each piece of dough into an 8" circle. Cut each circle into 8 pie shaped wedges. Place one tablespoon of filling onto each wide end and roll up to point.
Place on greased baking sheet curing ends slightly to form crescents. Bake at 375 degrees for 20 minutes or until golden brown. Dust with powdered sugar. Makes 2 dozen.
