Ingredients
- 3 ounces unsweetened chocolate -- coarsely chopped
- 3 ounces bittersweet chocolate -- coarsely chopped
- 1 cup margarine or butter -- softened
- 2 cups confectioners sugar
- 1 Tablespoon vanilla extract

Step 1
Melt both chocolates in a double boiler. Remove and set aside to cool until tepid.
In the bowl of an electric mixer, using the paddle attachment, beat the butter at medium speed until creamy, about 30 seconds. Gradually add the confectioners sugar and beat at high speed until light and creamy, about 2 minutes. Beat in the vanilla extract. Add the cooled chocolate at low speed and mix until blended. Scrape down the bowl as needed. Increase speed to high and beat until slightly aerated, about 1 minute.
