Ingredients

  • 250 g butter
  • 250 g dark chocolate, chopped (I used Whittakers 70% cocoa)
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 cup pretzels, chopped + 16 extra
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence
  • 3 eggs
  • 3/4 cup white flour
  • 2 tbsp cocoa

Preparation

Step 1

- Preheat your oven to 180°c

- Gently melt chocolate, butter and sugar in a bowl over a pot of boiling water, making sure not to let the bottom of the bowl touch the water, stirring constantly for about 5 minutes until smooth. Remove from the heat and let cool.

- Whisk together eggs and vanilla and add to the chocolate mixture, whisking until combined.

- Sift the flour and cocoa and add to the wet ingredients, fold until combined then add the pretzels and mix once more.

- Pour mixture into an 18x18 cm, lined pan, press extra pretzels into the top and bake for approximately 20 minutes until the centre is nearly set. Cool completely in pan before cutting.
