Vita Mix Spaghetti Sauce

This is a recipe for our Vita Mix. Zone info: every cup contains about 2 blocks of carbs. Total carb count for whole recipe is 5 blocks

Ingredients
- Seasonings:
- 3 cups tomatoes, peeled & quartered (2 carbs)
- 1 medium onion, diced (1/2 carb)
- 6 oz. canned tomato paste (2 1/2 carb)
- 1 clove garlic
- 1 teaspoon dried parsley flakes
- 1 teaspoon dried crushed oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon dried crushed basil
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- salt, to taste (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon sugar, honey, or agave nectar
- 1 bay leaf

Step 1
Saute onions with garlic in a small saucepan for a few minutes.
Combine tomatoes, tomato paste, & onion-garlic mixture in Vita Mix. Turn on machine & quickly increase speed to #5 or #6. Run for 5 seconds or until chunky.
Pour in saucepan. Add seasonings & simmer for 30 minutes. Stir frequently. Remove bay leaf.
Serve over cooked spaghetti.
NOTE: To zone without eating unfavorable carbs, do not serve over spaghetti. I usually saute some zucchini in olive oil & seasonings then place 2 cups zucchini on my plate, top with 4 1/2 oz. cooked ground turkey (to be exact with protein block, weigh turkey when raw. If weighing after turkey is cooked, measure out somewhere around 3 1/2 oz instead of 4 1/2 oz.)& top with about 1/2 cup spaghetti sauce.
