Ingredients

  • 5 c. flour
  • 2 pkg. Active Dry Yeast
  • 2 tbsp. sugar
  • 2 tbsp. oil
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 2 c. warm water

Step 1

Put dough hook on the mixter.

Place warm water, yeast, sugar and 1 tbsp. oil. Allow this mixture to bubble so there is foam on the top of the liquid.

Add flour and sautl and mix dough untill smooth and pulls away from the bowl.

Drizzle 1/2 of the oil over the ball of dough and turn the ball over so that oil coats all the dough. Let rise to double the size - at least 1 hr.

Punch dough down and knead. Put back into the bowl and drizzle the oil all over the dough.

Let rise again - about 1 hour.

This makes 4 medium sized pizza's.

The dough can be frozen into 4 balls that have flour coating them and put into ziploack bags.

When you want a pizza, take it out the day before and thaw in fridge.

Put some cornmeal on the sheet you are going to roll the dough on and roll it out. It is then ready for the toppings.

Heat oven to 450 F and heat the pizza stone for 5 - 10 minutes. Sprinkle cornmeal on the pizza stone and transfer the pizza dough onto it.

Cook for 15 to 20 minutes.
