Ingredients

  • 2 large bermuda or sweet onions, sliced, browned in 1/2 oil and 1/2 butter
  • 1 tsp sugar sprinkled on during the saute
  • 6 cups water
  • 6 large tsp of chicken or beef boullion crystals
  • french bread
  • swiss or guyere cheese

Preparation

Step 1

slice onions and put in pot to saute and brown.

when brown, add water and boullion.

cover and simmer for 20 minutes.

pour into individual casserols and add bread and cheese.

top with butter and bake at 375 for 30 minutes.
