Ingredients

  • 2 pounds ground chuck
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon prepared horseradish
  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 (8-ounce) package sliced baby bella mushrooms
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 (10.5-ounce) can french onion soup
  • 1 (10.5-ounce) can beef consomme

Preparation

Step 1

In a large bowl, combine ground chuck, Worcestershire sauce, horseradish, garlic, salt, and pepper.

Form mixture into 6 (5-inch) patties.

Heat a large non-stick skillet over medium heat.

Add patties, in batches if necessary, and cook for 5-6 minutes per side, or until browned.

Remove patties from pan; set aside. Reserve 2 tablespoons drippings in skillet.

Add mushrooms to skillet, and cook for 1-2 minutes, or until just tender.

Add flour, and cook, stirring constantly, for 2 minutes.

Stir in soup and consomme.

Return patties to pan; bring to a simmer.

Simmer, uncovered, for 30-40 minutes, or until patties are cooked through and sauce is thickened. Serve immediatley.
