Ingredients

  • Base
  • 1 pkg chocolate cake mix
  • 1/3 C margarine
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp mint flavoring
  • ------------------------
  • Frosting
  • 1 envelope unflavored gelatin - mix with 1/4 C boiling water then cool slightly
  • 1 can regular vanilla frosting
  • 1/2 tsp mint flavoring
  • Red or green food coloring
  • -------------------------
  • 1/2 C chocolate chips
  • 2-3 T margarine

Preparation

Step 1

- Mix base ingredients together with pastry blender until crumbly; pat into bottom of sprayed 9X13 pan
- Bake at 350 for 10 -12 minutes and cool
- When base cooled cool mix gelatin with boiling water; dissolve completely then cool slightly
- Mix remaining frosting ingredients with gelatin and spread over base
- Melt margarine and chocolate chips in microwave, stirring every 30 seconds until dissolved; drizzle in pattern over frosting; store in refrigerator
