There are as many recipes as there are people making this. Feel free to add your own ingredients.
Also works well in slow cooker.

Ingredients
- 1 small onion (3.5 oz.) diced
- 3 tablespoons of olive oil
- 1 teaspoon of caraway seeds
- 1 teaspoon of paprika
- 1 lb. of stew beef cut into cubes
- salt to taste
- 1/4 cup water (I use red wine)
- 2 qtrs. water
- 2-3 potatoes cut into cubes
- 2 carrots cut into cubes
- 2 turnips cut into round slices.
- 1 can 8 oz. of tomato sauce (optional)may reduce the amount of water added.
- 1 can diced tomatoes Optional)

Step 1
Sauté onions in oil until tender.
Add caraway seeds an paprika, mix well. Next add cut up beef, salt and 1/4 cup of water (red wine) and simmer for 10 minutes.
Next add the 2 quarts of water, potatoes, carrots and turnips and whatever cook until meat is tender.
