Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup cocoa
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 Tbsp light corn syrup
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1/3 cup nuts, chopped
  • 2 to 2-1/4 cups powdered sugar

Preparation

Step 1

Combine granulated sugar and cocoa in a 2-quart saucepan. Stir in milk, butter and corn syrup.

Bring to a boil oer medium heat, stirring frequently.

Boil and stir for 1 minute. Remove from heat and allow to col without stirring until bottom of pan is lukewarm (about 45 minutes).

Stir in vanilla and nuts. Mix in powdered sugar until very stiff.

Press into buttered loaf pan measuring 9 x 5 x 3 inches.

Chill until firm and cut into 1-inch squares.
