Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef/chuck 1 (9oz) pkg frozen mixed vegetables, thawed
  • ½ c chopped onion 1 (10-12 oz) can Hungry Jack buttermilk biscuits
  • ¾ c water 8 oz shredded Mozzarella
  • 1 (6oz) can tomato paste 1 tbsp melted margarine
  • 1 (8oz) can tomato sauce oregano

Step 1

Heat oven to 375 degrees. Grease 12x8 (2 quart) baking dish. Brown ground beef and onion; drain. In a separate pan mix water, tomato paste, tomato sauce and pepper; heat until warm then pour over ground beef and onion; simmer for 15 minutes. Stir in vegetables and 1-1/2 cups of cheese. Spoon mixture into baking dish.

Separate biscuit dough into 10-12 biscuits, then separate each biscuit into 2 layers. Place on top of hot mixture near edge, overlapping slightly. Sprinkle remaining cheese in center. Gently brush biscuits with margarine; sprinkle with oregano. Bake at 375 degrees for 25 minutes, or until biscuits are golden. Serves 6 to 8.
