Spanish Rice and Hot Dogs

Does anyone have a really yummy recipe? It was served regularly in the lunchroom when I was in 4th grade, a million years ago, and was it ever good.

Ingredients

• 6 hot dogs, cut into 1" pieces
• 1 small onion, chopped
• 1/2 green pepper, diced
• 2 cups minute rice
• 1/4 cup butter or margarine
• 2 cups hot water
• 2-8 ounce or 1-15 ounce can(s) tomato sauce
• Salt and pepper to taste

Preparation

Step 1

Saute first 4 ingredients in butter until lightly browned. Add remaining ingredients and bring to boil. Reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, for 5 minutes.

Green Beans

Stir about 1 teaspoon bacon grease into your green beans while you are heating them. Add a small amount of onion salt and you have green beans that are big on flavor with very little work.
