Ingredients
- 1/2 pound bacon
- all beans rinsed drained
- 2 15 oz can butter beans
- 1 15 oz can white lima beans
- 1 15 oz can dark red kidney beans
- 1 15 oz can light red kidney beans
- 1 med. white onion diced
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup cider vinegar
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp salt

Preheat oven to 300º F.
Cook bacon in a medium pan over medium-high heat. Once crispy, set aside on a paper towel-lined plate.
Add diced onion to bacon fat, season with salt and garlic powder, and cook until soft and translucent.
In a bean pot, combine beans, brown sugar, cider vinegar and bacon (crumbled or cut into pieces). Stir well.
Cover and bake for 80-90 minutes.
Stir well and serve hot. I started out at 200 degrees for about 30 minutes, turned oven up to 300 for about an hour, then back down to 200 to keep warm.
