Ingredients

• 2/3 cup butter
• 1 cup brown sugar
• 1 egg
• 1 tsp. vanilla
• 2 cups flour
• 1/4 tsp. salt
• 1/2 tsp. baking soda
• 1 square unsweetened chocolate

Preparation

Step 1

Cream butter, gradually adding sugar.
Add egg and vanilla and beat well.
Mix dry ingredients and stir into butter mixture.
Divide dough in half.
Add 1 square melted unsweetened chocolate to half.

Roll each into 1/8" thick rectangle. Place one on top of the other and roll.
Chill until hard (1-2 hours). Slice about 1/4" and bake on ungreased cookie sheet at 350o for 8 - 10 minutes.
