Preparation
Step 1
Dough:
In large tupperware bread bowl, dissolve yeast with warm water. Add sugar, eggs, melted margarine, and salt. Alternate stirring in milk and flour until dough is formed. Cover bowl with towel and let raise until double.
Remove 1/3 of dough and roll out in a circular shape about 1/2 inch thick on a floured surface. Spread softened butter over top, cover with brown sugar and cinnamon.
Roll circle into roll and place on lightly greased pizza pan.
Join ends of roll together to form a circle around pizza pan. Using a sharp knife, cut slits about 3/4 of the way through and twist each cut piece to the side, laying it flat, going consistently the same direction until the whole ring is completed.
Cover again and let raise. Bake for 15 minutes at 375 degrees or until golden brown.
Repeat process for remaining two tea rings.
Icing:
Combine all ingredients to a smooth spreading consistency.
When tea rings are cooled, frost tops of tea rings with icing and decorate with cherries and walnuts. The red and green crystals can be sprinkled on for a more festive look at Xmas.
