Ingredients

  • 4 oz. pkg. Baker's sweet chocolate
  • 5 tbls. butter
  • 3 oz. pkg. cream cheese
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbls. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. vavilla
  • 2 eggs
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/4 tsp. almond extract (opt.)

Preparation

Step 1

Melt chocolate and 3 tbls. butter over heat, stirring. Cool. Blend 2 tbls. cream cheese. Gradually add 1/4 cup sugar. Blend 1 egg, 1 tbls. flour and 1/2 tsp. vanilla. Set aside.
Beat 2 eggs until thick and light in color. Gradually add 3/4 cup sugar. Beat until thick. Add baking powder, salt and 1/2 cup flour. Blend in cooled chocolate, nuts, 1 tsp. vanilla and almond extract (opt.). Spread 1/2 of the mixture on greased 8-9" square pan. Add cheese mixture, spread evenly. Top with tbls. of remaining chocolate batter. Zig-zag spoon thru batter to marble.

Bake 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes.
