Ingredients

  • 2 Pkg Yeast
  • 1/2 Cup warm water
  • 2 Cups Shortening
  • 2 Cups Hot water, if you use non-fat milk just use 3 cups of milk
  • 1 Cups Milk
  • 1/2 Cup Sugar
  • 1 Tbsp Salt
  • Flour enough to thicken about 6 Cups.

Preparation

Step 1

Melt shortening in hot water and as soon as it melts add milk.
If you use oil and non-fat milk heat to warm temperature.
Add sugar and salt stir well.
Add yeast to warm water and stir to melt. add to wet ingredients
Put flour in a large bowl make a hole in center. slowly stir in the wet ingredients until it thickens
Let raise in warm place until it doubles (proofs)
On a floured dusted board make loafs and put into loaf pans, let stand until it doubles again.
Bake @ 350 degrees for about an hour.
