Ingredients

  • Crust:
  • 3 oz package cream cheese (softened)
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine (1 stick-softened NOT MELTED)
  • 1 cup flour (all purpose-not self-rising)
  • Filling:
  • 1 egg
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon butter softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2/3 cup coarsely broken pecans.

Preparation

Step 1

Crust:
Blend cream cheese & butter. Stir in flour. Shape into 24 balls. Chill one hour. Place in ungreased pan. (I always spray with Pam) Press evenly against sides and bottom.

Filling:
Mix all together except for pecans. Divide pecans. Put 1/2 in pastries. Fill with mixture and top with remaining pecans.

Bake in slow oven 325 degrees for 25 minutes or until filling is set. Cool before removing from pan.
