  • 2 1/4 C. flour
  • 1/4 C. cornstarch
  • 1 C. granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp. ginger
  • 1/2 tsp. cloves
  • 1 C. butter, softened
  • 1 C. brown sugar, packed
  • 2 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1 C. buttermilk
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 Tbs. maple syrup
  • 1 tsp.cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1/2 C. butter , softened
  • 1/3 C. milk
  • 3 C. powdered sugar

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease muffins pans. In a large mixing bowl, combine the first 10 ingredients. In a separate bowl, cream butter and brown sugar. Add vanilla and buttermilk; mix well. Then add eggs and mix well. Fill prepared muffin pans (only 3/4 full). Bake 20 minutes or until done. Cool.

To make frosting:

Combine ingredients and mix well. Frost cooled muffins.
