Microwave Pecan Brittle

Ingredients
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup corn syrup
- 1 cup pecans, broken into large pieces
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 teaspoon baking soda

Preparation
Step 1
Combine sugar and corn syrup in a 40-ounce glass measuring cup or container. Microwave on high (100 percent power) 4 minutes. Stir in pecans. Microwave an additional 5
minutes on high. Stir in butter and vanilla and microwave on high 1 minute. Stir in baking soda until foamy. Immediately pour onto a well-greased baking sheet. Do not spread out. When cool, break into pieces.
Note: Times are for an 800-watt microwave oven. Reduce time or power for those with more wattage, and increase time for lower wattage.
