Ingredients
- 3 cups flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1 cup margarine or butter
- 2 cups sugar
- 4 eggs unbeaten
- 1 cup sour milk
- 2 tsp. vanilla

Preparation
Step 1
Sift together dry ingrediants. Cream butter and sugar and blend with unbeaten eggs. Combine sour milk and vanilla. Add liquid to sugar mixture alternately with dry ingrediants. Pour batter into ungreased tube pan and bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour and 20 minutes.
Butter Sauce
Combine 1 cup sugar, 1/4 cup water and 1 stick butter or margarine and 1 tsp. vanilla. Heat until melts. Do not boil.
While cake is still warm in pan, prick top with fork and slowly pour sauce over cake. Remove from pan when cool
