Ingredients
- 1 envelope unflavored gelatin
- 1/4 cup cold water
- 1 cup dairy sour cream
- 2 egg yolks
- 2 tlb. sugar
- 1 cup fresh strawberry halves
- 1/2 cup red currant jelly
- 2 tlb. milk
- 1/8 tsp salt
- 2 egg white
- 1/4 tsp almond extract
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 tlb water

Preparation
Step 1
Soften gelatin in water. In saucepan, combine sour cream, egg yolks, sugar milk, and salt. Mix well. Cook over medium heat stirring constantly for 5 min. Blend in gelatin.
Cool, stirring occasionally until thick but not set. In small bowl, beat egg whites with almond extract at high speed until soft mounds form.
Gradually add 1/4 cup sugar, beating until stiff peaks form. Fold into chilled mixture gently but not thoroughly. Spoon into pie shell. Chill until set, about 2 hours.
Arrange strawberries on top. Heat jelly with water stirring constantly until jelly melts. Spoon over strawberries. Chill until served.
