Banana Chocolate Chip Cake

From the Mayflower Cookbook given to us by Eddie and Elaine Kaplan 8/20/93 for our engagement. Have given this recipe out to many of my friends and it feels like it is the most widely used recipe for banana bread.

Ingredients

• 2-3 ripe bananas, peeled
• 1 medium apple, peeled
• 1 cup of sugar (i use less)
• 1 egg
• 1 1/2 cups flour
• 1/4 cup butter or margarine, melted
• 1 t baking soda
• Dash of salt
• 3/4 cup chocolate chips

Preparation

Step 1

Mash bananas with fork, and cut up apples into small cubes. Stir in remaining ingredients in order given. Pour into a buttered 8 1/2 x 4 1/2 inch loaf pan. Bake in 325 degree oven for 1 hour or until done.
