Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp ground allspice
- 1 egg
- 1 1/4 cups allpurpose flour
- 3/4 cup coarsley chopped walnuts, toasted ( toast walnuts in a pan at 350 about 15 minutes)
- 2 tbs sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon

Preparation
Step 1
1. Preheat oven to 350. In a electric mixer, beat butter for 30 seconds. Add 1 cup of sugar,baking powder, 1 tsp cinnamon, salt, allspice; beat until fluffy. Add egg;beat until combined. Gradually add flour;beating until well mixed;stir in walnuts
2. Drop by rounded teaspoons 2 inches apart on parchment lined cookie sheets. In a small bowl combine 2 tbs sugar and 1 tsp cinnamon. Sprinkle dough mounds with sugar mixture
3. Bake 11-13 minutes or until edges are firm. Let stand on cookie sheet for 1 minute. Transfer to wire rack; let cool
Note: layer cookies between waxed paper in airtight container
