Ingredients

  • 1 (28 ounce) cans tomato sauce or diced tomatoes for chunkier salsa
  • 28 ounces water - less if you like it thicker
  • 1 medium yellow onion, minced
  • 2 fresh jalapeno peppers, with seeds,minced - more if you want it hotter - this will be mild
  • 1/4 cup white vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon dried onion flakes
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon sugar (optional)

Preparation

Step 1

Bring all ingredients to a boil in saucepan over med-high heat.
Reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes or until thick. Remove from heat and cool.
Store in an airtight jar in refrigerator until serving.
