Rocky Road Ice Cream

Makes 6 cups

Ingredients

• 1 cup sugar
• pinch of salt
• 1 teaspoon cocoa powder
• 1/4 cup water
• 2 ounces unsweetened chocolate
• 4 cups half & half
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
• 1/3 cup chopped walnuts
• 1/3 cup chocolate chips
• 1/3 cup miniature marshmallows

Preparation

Step 1

Dissolve the sugar, salt and cocoa powder in the water. Add the unsweetened chocolate and melt in a double boiler. Slowly add the half & half and heat. Remove from heat and cool. Add vanilla. Freeze according to directions of ice cream maker.

When ice cream is half frozen, fold in the walnuts, chocolate chips and marshmallows, then finish freezing.
