Ingredients
- Butter Cream Icing:
- 1/2 lb. butter
- 2 cups sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1 teaspoon baking soda and 1/4 cup water mixed together
- 1 cup milk
- 3 cups flour
- 3/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1 cup chopped nuts
- 1 tablespoon melted butter
- 1/4 cup sugar and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, mix together
- 1 teaspoon lemon rind
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 tablespoon flour
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla

Step 1
Cream 1/2 lb. butter and sugar. Add eggs, mix well. Mx flour and cream of tartar and add alternately with milk and the soda water. Blend thoroughly.
Grease pan, and line bottom of angel food pan with chopped nuts. Add dough. Bake 1 hour 10 minutes at 380 degrees. 10-15 minutes before cake is done, brush top with melted butter and sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar, mixed together. Put back into oven until done.
Butter Cream Icing:
Cook over low heat for about 1 minute or until thick, 1/2 cup water and 1 tablespoon flour. Set aside until it is cold (do not mix while warm). Mix 1/2 cup butter, 1/2 cup granulated sugar and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Cream butter, add sugar, mix well. Add vanilla and flour mixture, and beat at highest speed until of spreading consistency. Spread over entire cake.
