Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 c all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 t salt
  • 1/2 c margarine, chilled
  • 3 T ice water

Step 1

Whisk the flour and salt together in a medium size bowl. With a pastry blender, cut in the margarine until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Drizzle 2-3 tablespoons ice water over flour mixture. Toss mixture with a fork to moisten, adding more water a few drops at a time until the dough comes together.

Gently gather dough particles together into a ball. Wrap in a plastic wrap, and chill for at least 30 minutes.

Roll out dough on floured board. Place in pie plate.

For one-crust pie, bake at 425 degree for 11 minutes.

Double recipe for two-crust pie; fill and bake per instructions for pie.
