Ingredients

  • Topping:
  • 4-5 cups all purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 2 pkg active dry yeast
  • 1/3 cup butter or marg, softened
  • 3/4 cup very worm water (120-130 degrees)
  • 1 1/2 Tbls melted butter or marg.
  • 1/2 cup firmly packed dark brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup butter or marg
  • 1/2 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup light corn syrup

Preparation

Step 1

In large electric mixer bowl, mix 1 cup of flour, granulated sugar, salt, and yeast. Add butter. Gradually add water and beat 2 minutes at medium speed. Scrape bowl. Add eggs and 1/4 cup flour. Beat at high speed 2 minutes, scraping bowl occasionally. Stir in enough additional flour to make a soft dough. Knead on lightly floured board 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place in greased bowl. turn to grease all sides. cover, let rise in a worm place until doubled in bulk, about 45 minutes.
Topping:
In a small saucepan combine butter or marg, brown sugar, and corn syrup. Heat until sugar melts. Pour syrup into 18 greased 3" muffin pans. Srinkle with 3/4 cup chopped nuts or raisins.
Punch down dough, turn out and roll out dough to make and 18x10" rectangle. Brush with melted butter, sprinkle with 1/2 cup brown sugar. roll up from side to make and 18" roll. Pinch edge to seal. Cut into 18 1" slices. Arrange rolls cut side down in prepared pans. Cover, let rise in warm place until doubled in bulk, about 30 minutes. Bake in moderately hot oven 375 for 20-25 minutes until done. Invert into tray.
