Ingredients
- 1 6-ounce package 7-minute macaroni*
- 1 teaspoon grated onion
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 10 1/2- or 11-ounce can condensed cream of mushroom soup**
- 1/2 teaspoon salt**
- 1/8 teaspoon pepper
- 1/2 pound American cheese, cubed

Step 1
Cook macaroni in boiling salted water*; drain and rinse. Combine onion, milk, soup, and seasonings. Alternate layers of macaroni, soup, and cheese in greased 1 1/2-quart baking dish. Bake in a moderate oven (350 degrees F) about 45 minutes.

*TIp:
6 oz of dried pasta will work here. It doesn't have to say 7-minute on the box. Cook for the time the box directions states.
**Tip:
After testing, we suggest using condensed reduced-sodium cream of mushroom soup and omitting the salt.
