  • 1 sleeve saltine crackers (about 35 crackers)
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) butter
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 tea. vanilla
  • 1 Tbsp. cider vinegar
  • 1/4 tea. flaky sea salt

Step 1

Line a large jelly-roll pan with foil; lightly coat with nonstick cooking spray. Arrange crackers o pan in single layer.

In large microwave-safe bowl, microwave butter on high 1 minute or until melted. Whisk in sugar, brown sugar, vanilla and vinegar until smooth. Microwave uncovered on hi8gh 6 minutes in 2 minutes intervals, whisking thoroughly after each interval before returning to microwave. Microwave 1-2 minutes more or until dark amber (or until candy thermometer registers 320 degrees).

Carefully remove caramel from microwave; pour over crackers in pan. Spread caramel into this layer using offset spatula; tap jelly-roll pan on flat surface to evenly distribute. Sprinkle with salt. Let cook, 15 minutes, or until caramel hardens; break into pieces.
