Ingredients
- 1/4 cup lard or vegetable oil
- 1/4 cup flour
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 2 tablespoon chili powder
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 3 tablespoons seasoned ground beef (optional)

Preparation
Step 1
1. Heat oil in skillet over medium-high heat.
2. Stir in flour and continue to stir for 3-4 minutes or until it makes a light brown roux.
3. Add all of the remaining dry ingredients and cook additional 1 minutes, constantly stirring.
4. Add chicken broth, mixing and stirring until sauce thickens.
5. Add seasoned ground beef
6. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 15 minutes. Add water to adjust thickness.
