Ingredients

  • 1 cup cornmeal
  • 1 cup whole wheat flour, white whole wheat flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons buttermilk
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup

Preparation

Step 1

1. Heat oven to 400. Lightly grease baking sheet or line with parchment paper.

2. Whisk together cornmeal, flour, baking powder, and salt. Cut in butter.

3. Combine milk, buttermilk, and syrup; add to dry ingredients, stirring just until evenly moistened. Scoop dough by heaping tablespoons onto baking sheet. Bake until edges are light golden brown; about 15 minutes. Serve warm.

Notes: Very easy to put together and very good. Subbed buttermilk for 2 tbsp butter and they would probably have been better the other way, but still good.
