Ingredients
- 2 heaping c. applies thinly sliced
- 1/2 c. raisins
- 1/4 c. breadcrumbs
- 1/4 c. loosely packed brown sugar
- 1/4 c. chopped walnuts
- 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. lemon
- 5 sheets phyllo dough (14 x 18) or 9 x 14 (makes two small strudels
- 5 tbsp. melted butter
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 1 tbsp. icing sugar

Step 1
475º F
Lightly grease a baking sheet. Place all first 8 ingredients in a bowl and toss evenly. Lay out 1 sheet dough and brush with butter. Do this with all 5 sheets and butter the top of the last sheet. Arrange apple mixture in a strip about 1/3 up from the bottom and leave 2" on ends. Lift bottom of phyllo over the apple mixture. Fold in sides and continue to roll tightly. Brush the top with the remaining butter and sprinkle with the granulated sugar.
Bake until golden brown (about 15 minutes). Cool to room temperature. Sprinkle with icing sugar.
