Ingredients
- 1/2 c vegetable shortening
- 3/4 c. creamy peanut butter
- 1-1/4 c. firmly packed light brown sugar
- 3 T. milk
- 1 T. vanilla
- 1 egg
- 1-3/4 c. all purpose flour
- 3/4 t. salt
- 3/4 t. baking soda

Step 1
Heat oven to 375.
Combine shortening, peanut butter, brown sugar, milk and vanilla in a large bowl. Beat at medium speed of electric mixer until well blended. Add egg. Beat until just blended.
Combine flour, salt and baking soda. Add to creamed mixture at low speed. Mix until just blended.
Drop by heaping teaspoonfuls 2 inches apart onto ungreased baking sheet. Flatten slightly in crisscross patterns with tines of fork.
Bake at 375 for 7 to 8 mins, or until set and just beginning to brown. Do not over bake. Cool 2 mins on baking sheet. Remove cookies to foil to cool completely.
