Ingredients

  • 2 c. flour
  • 2 tsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. dillweed
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 c. cold butter
  • 2/3 c. buttermilk
  • 1/4 c. egg substitute
  • 1/2 c. shredded cheddar

Preparation

Step 1

In a lg. bowl, combine the first 6 ingred. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Combine buttermilk and egg substitute; stir into flour mixture just until moistened. Stir in cheese.
Turn onto a floured surface, knead 8-10 times. Pat to 3/4in thickness; cut with a floured biscuit cutter.
Place 1in. apart on an ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 400F for 12-16 min. or until golden brown.
