- 1 pound cream cheese
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Apple topping
- 3 medium apples -- peeled and sliced
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup coarsely chopped walnuts
- Torte Crust
- 10-inch spring form pan
- Crust
- 1/2 Cup Butter, chilled
- 1 Cup Sifted All Purpose Flour
- 1/3 cup Granulated Sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon Vanilla Extract

Preparation
Step 1
1. Preheat oven to 450.
2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese, sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Mix until completely blended. Pour the mixture into the prepared crust.
3. Prepare the topping. Place the apple slices in a large bowl and add the sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla. Stir to mix well and to distribute the ingredients.
4. Layer the apple slices on top of the cheese mixture, then Sprinkle the top with the walnut pieces.
5. Bake the torte for 15 minutes, then reduce the heat to 350 and bake for an additional 45 minutes more. Cool to room Temperature, then chill.
For the Crust
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2. Cut the butter into vary small pieces.
3. In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, butter pieces, and vanilla. Mix together with your fingers until the pastry resembles course meal.
4. Press the dough into a pie pan and bake for 5 minutes.
