Ingredients

  • Take care not to overbake this chewy, brownielike cookie.
  • 2 oz. unsweetened chocolate
  • 1/4 lb. butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
  • 2/3 cup flour
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. vanilla

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 350 and grease some cookie sheets well. Melt the chocolate in a bowl or pot over simmering water; set aside to cool. Cream the butter and gradually beat in the sugar and the eggs, blending well. Add the chocolate and walnuts and combine thoroughly. Mix the flour and salt together and add to the first mixture, along with the vanilla. Mix well. Arrange by tsp. on the cookie sheets and bake for 10-12 minutes or until firm but chewy.
