  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, softened
  • 2 cups (3 large) mashed bananas
  • 8 ounces sour cream
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
  • Frosting
  • 1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter
  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 3 Tbsp milk

Step 1

Preheat oven to 375. Grease a 15x10 baking pan
To prepare bars, combine sugars and butter in a mixing bowl. Beat with an electric mixer on medium speed until creamy. Blend in bananas, sour cream, eggs and vanilla. Blend in flour, cinnamon, salt and soda until well combined. Stir in nuts. Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake 25-30 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Let cool.
To prepare frosting, place butter in a small saucepan. Cook over low heat until lightly browned and bubbly. Stir in powdered sugar and milk. Beat until creamy. Spread frosting over top of bars. Cut into 48 pieces.
