Ingredients
- 1 C scalded milk
- 1/4 C shortening
- pkg yeast in 1/4 C warm water
- 2 eggs
- 1/4 C sugar
- 1/12 t salt
- 4 3/4 C flour
- 1 t lemon peel
- 3/4 C raisins
- 1/4 C candied cherries
- 2 t candied orange peel
- 1/4 C sliced citron
- 1 T cardamom seeds
- 1 t. ground cardamom

Preparation
Step 1
Combine milk, shortening, sugar and salt. Cool to lukewarm. Add yeast softened in water. Add 2 C flour mixture (all dry ing with exception of fruit). Add 2 eggs and rest of flour mixture. Knead until smooth and elastic. Let rise until double. Punch down and form into round loaves. Bake at 350 degrees when risen. Frost with p. sugar frosting.
