Frosting for Banana Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup solid vegetable shortening
  • 1/2 cup butter -- softened
  • 1 package vanilla pudding -- 6 oz, not instant
  • 1 1/4 cups milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Preparation

Step 1

Cook vanillla pudding with milk until very thick. Cool completely.

Cream sugar, butter and shortening until light and fluffy.

Add pudding to sugar mix. Beat on high speed with an electric mixer for
about 15 minutes, or until it is no longer grainy.

Add the vanilla and mix one more minute.
