Ingredients

  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 T butter or margarine
  • 1 32 oz. can sauerkraut, rinse and drained
  • 1 lb Polish sausages, fully cooked, cut into 1/2" chunks
  • 2-1/2 cups peeled potatoes, diced and cooked
  • 1 cup apple juice
  • 1 med unpeeled, diced apple
  • 2 T brown sugar
  • 2 T flour
  • 2 craway seeds
  • 3 bacon strips, cooked and crumbled

Preparation

Step 1

In a large saucepan, saute onion in butter until tender. Add sauerkraut, sausage, potatoes, apple juice and apple. In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar, flour and caraway. Stir into saucepan. Simmer for 35 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Garnish with bacon.
