Mars Bar Cookies

By

These Mars Bar (NOTE-OTHER CHOCOLATE CONFECTIONARY GOODS ARE AVALIABLE) cookies are deliciously gooey pieces of loveliness. The nougat and caramel makes them soft and sticky, and their molten chocolate centres mean that they just melt in the mouth. If you only eat one of these bad boys without wanting to gobble up the rest at the nearest possible opportunity, then you're a better person than I am.

Preparation

Step 1

1) Heat your oven up to Gas Mark 5 (around 175 degrees c).

2) Sift your flour, baking powder and cocoa in a mixing bowl.

3) In another mixing bowl, cream together your butter and your sugar. Then add the eggs and vanilla extract and mix well.

4) Now add your butter mixture to your flour mixture and mix with a wooden spoon until combined. The batter at this point may become quite stiff and difficult to mix, so if you have weak and puny arms, you may want to get in someone with excellent upper body strength skills for this part.

5) Add the chopped Mars bars to your batter and mix some more.

6) Roll the mixture into small balls and place them onto a greased baking tray. Remember to leave at least 2.5cm between each cookie! Then bake them for 20-25 minutes.

7) Once the cookies are done, remove them from the oven and let them cool for about 10mins before transferring onto a cooling rack. The cookies may have spat out some nougat during the baking process, so if this has happened, be sure to take your best wooden spoon and push it back into the cookies.

8) If you've not eaten all of them in one sitting, these cookies can be stored in an airtight container for up to a week. Otherwise, make like the cookie monster and hide these beauties away somewhere safe before they're all snapped up!
