Ingredients
- 1 c. milk
- 1/4 cup butter or oil
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 5-6 cups high gluten flour (Editor's note: or add vital wheat gluten)
- 1 egg
- 1 tbsp. yeast

Step 1
Scald milk or use powdered milk mixed according to directions. Add butter, sugar, salt, and 2 cups high-gluten flour. Mix until smooth. Beat in egg and yeast. Add additional flour to make a soft dough. When using bosch mixer, add flour until dough barely cleans bowl. Knead until smooth and elastic. Shape into rolls, and place in greased pan, barely touching each other. Let rise until double in bulk. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes. Can be used for cinnamon rolls or crescent rolls. Yield 1 dozen.
