Ingredients
- 2 pounds lean chuck steak, 1 1/4 to 1 1/2-inch thick seasoned instant meat tenderizer
- 1 tablespoon salad oil
- 1 tablespoon bottled sauce for gravy
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons sot sauce
- 1 10 1/2-ounce can condensed consomme, undiluted
- 4 1/2 cups hot, fluffy rice
- 1 large onion, peeled
- 2 cups celery, in long, thin strips
- 1 8-ounce package frozen pea pods (snow peas ), thawed
- 1 tablespoon corn starch
- 2 tablespoons water
- 2 small red tomatoes
- snipped parsley

Preparation
Step 1
About 1 hour before serving;
1. Prepare steak with tenderizer as label directs. Then cut it diagonally, across grain, into very thin slices. slanting knife from top to bottom.
2. To hoy salad oil, in large skillet, add steak strips and the bottle sauce for gravy., cook stirring until meat is browned
3.Now add salt, soy sauce, consomme simmer covered20 minutes or until meat is tender.
4. Start cooking rice, also slice onions thinly. Lay onion rings and celerey on top of steak, then cook, covered -medium heat 5 minutes; add pea pods, then cook 2 minutes
5. Blend cornstarch with water, then stir into liqued around steak to thicken it slightly. Add tomato wedges here and there, remove from heat, keep warm in skillet. Into ho fuffy rice stir snipped parsley
Serve steak in skillet.
