Ingredients
- 1/4 lb salt pork
- 1 garlic clove
- 1 small onion
- 5 or more stalks parsley
- 3 celery stalks
- 4 large carrots
- 1/4 c olive oil
- 2 T tomato paste
- 10 c chicken broth (2 large
- sized cans Swanson)
- 2 large potatoes
- 1 zucchini
- 1 c chick peas
- 1 1/2 c small shells
- salt/pepper

Step 1
Cut the salt pork into 4 large pieces. Chop garlic, onion, parsley, celery and carrots into generous pieces in Cuisinart. Put oil in soup pot and cook with port for about 5 minutes. Stir in broth and cook for about 30 minutes. Chop potatoes and zucchini into bite sized pieces and add to soup. Add pasta and ceci beans last. Cook until pasta is al dente. Remove pork before serving.
Serve with grated cheese or pesto sauce.
