  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • pinch of kosher salt
  • 1 tsp ground cardamom

Step 1

Put all the ingredients into a small saucepan and cook, uncovered, over medium heat, whisking occasionally to dissolve the sugar. Just before the mixture comes to a boil, remove from heat. Cover and let the mixture steep at room temperature for 20 minutes. Pour into bowl and chill.

When the mixture is cold, pour it into an ice cream maker and process, then transfer to container to freeze.
