Ingredients

  • 1 jar (6.5 oz) chocolate hazelnut spread (Nutella)
  • 1/4 c powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp hazelnut liqueur
  • 1 pkg semisweet chocolate chips or 12 squares semisweet chocolate
  • 2 T shortening
  • 60 paper or foil candy cups 1"
  • Decorator frostings for garnish

Preparation

Step 1

In small mixing bowl combine chocolate hazelnut spread, powdered sugar and hazelnut liqueur, if desired. With electric mixer, beat until well-combined. Chill until ready to use.

In double boiler over medium-high heat melt chocolate and shortening, stirring constantly until smooth. Cool slightly. To make truffle, spoon 1/2 tsp hazelnut mixture and top with 1/2 tsp melted chocolate. Repeat to fill remaining cups. Chill until set. Top each truffle with decorator frostings for garnish, if desired.
