- 1 (18.25-ounce) box moist-style cake mix
- 1 (12-ounce) can diet soda Your choice of flavor.
- 1 tub of cool whip thawed
- strawberry's sliced frozen or mandarin oranges drained for garnish

Step 1
Preheat the oven and prepare your baking pan according to the mix directions.
Dump the dry cake mix into a medium-sized mixing bowl. Use a fork to remove most of the lumps from the mix.
Add the 12 oz. diet soda to the cake mix. Pour it slowly to avoid having the fizz overflow from the bowl. Mix together thoroughly with a whisk or wooden spoon.
Add no additional ingredients even though the cake mix directions will call for more. Fold the cake mixture into your baking pan and place the pan in the oven. Bake the cake according to the package directions.
Remove the cake from the oven when ready and allow it to cool completely in the pan. This will take a couple of hours.
Ice the cooled cake with the fat-free whipped topping. It's fat-free so use a generous amount!
Top with the sliced strawberries. Slice and serve. Leftover cake needs to be covered and stored in the refrigerator.
You can substitute with orange pop and mandarin orange's drained.
