Ingredients

  • 1 12 - 16 ounce baguette-style French bread
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 4 ounce package (1/2 cup) crumbled blue cheese
  • 1 tablespoon snipped fresh chives
  • 1 tablespoon brandy (optional)
  • 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Use a serrated knife to cut bread crosswise into 1-inch slices, cutting to but not through the bottom crust.

In a small bowl stir together butter, cheese, chives, brandy (if desired), and cayenne pepper. Spread mixture between slices of bread. Wrap loaf in foil.

3.

Bake for 10 to 15 minutes or until bread is heated through and cheese is melted.
